BLACK PEOPLE IT`S TIME TO WAKE UP..... Why is it that we are the only race in this country that truly just hates on each other? We`re constantly hatin` on each other for one reason or another. If we make it to the boardrooms and get a little $$$ we end up thinkin` that we`re better than the ones that are below us on the socioeconomic scale, just because we think we`ve made it into the white man`s world. If we never make it out the hood, like a lot of us don`t, we`re steady killin` each other and pumpin` more and more drugs into the streets........The thing we have to understand is that we live in a society of systematic racism that is set up for our destruction. 140 years ago, before the end of slavery, Americans had a successful formula for keeping slaves in slavery: they kept the slaves ignorant and fighting amongst themselves. The harsh reality of 2003 is that`s the same formula being used to keep us in MENTAL SLAVERY today - they`re keeping us ignorant and fighting amongst ourselves. The sad reality that we live in today is that America no longer has to lynch us, rape us, and degrade us........it`s now set up for us to destroy ourselves. Black people, we need to rise above all this ignorance and realize that every time we decide to slang drugs rather than go to college, take a life rather than help raise up a young one, hate on a brotha or sista for tryin` to make it rather than give them the support and encouragement that they need, all we`re doin` is helping America in it`s plan to destroy us. We had great leaders in King, X, Douglass, Garvey, Tubman, etc.......that gave their lives so that we would have the opportunities we need to one day really and truly become free, but up until this point all we`ve done is let their deaths go in vain. I don`t want anyone to get my message wrong.....I`m not advocating or tryin` to perpetuate hate in any way what so ever because this isn`t about goin` after other races, our ancestors already fought that fight. My message is to instill in us the idea best stated by Dr. Carter G. Woodson - "White supremacy can only be conquered with Afrocentricity, self-hatred can only be destroyed with self-love". We`re eventually goin` to have to get to a point where we can elevate our way of thinkin` and start loving ourselves and each other enough to put down all this ignorance that has been ingrained in us for over 400 years. We`re goin` to have to stop worshipping these false idols of sex, materialism, and power and turn our eyes to GOD. Our ancestors` foundation of their GOD-GIVEN inherent strength and greatness is what help them to endure the Middle Passage, and over 400 hundred years of slavery. If we can?t get back to the foundation of our ancestors, turn our hearts to the LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST, stop feeding into the plan that this society has set up to destroy us, and rise above all of this ignorance, we are definitely ALL doomed for destruction. TORY HOWE-LYNCH - Tory was a 15 year old black man gunned down on the steps of Temple Missionary Baptist Church in San Bernardino, California December 5, 2002. Tory was a member of Temple Baptist Church and part of the youth choir. While waiting with the rest of the choir to go perform at another church Tory was shot 5 times by a 24 year old black man. The 24 year old man was caught, and after being questioned, the police suspect that TORY WAS SHOT FOR WEARING A RED HAT. (Another young black life gone for no reason. Black people, when are we going to rise above this ignorance and stop killing each other?) RAYNARD JOHNSON - Raynard was a 17 year old black man lynched in his parents front yard in Kokomo, Mississippi June 16, 2000. He was found by his father hanging from the pecan tree of their front yard. The police failed to do a proper investigation and instead of checking all the evidence they just decided it was a suicide. This leaves another family without closure or justice and another racist able to get away with murder.
